Cute Kid Quote of the Day

Even though our dinner plans were cancelled the other night, (you can read the story here) we still enjoyed the apple pie I baked.  What else were we supposed to do, right?

So as our daughter was gobbling up her slice of pie she matter-of-factly commented "I never get tired of eating homemade pie".  It was a sort of statement and thinly-veiled hint all rolled into one. What makes it even funnier, is that she has probably had one other slice of pie in her life.

This evening my husband went to the barber after work.  That isn't such an exciting thing.  But what is exciting is the little family-owned bakery that is right next door.  They have such good stuff there, lots of different types of cookies and even mini creme brulee.  And it's fairly cheap.  Oh, such a dangerous combination ;-)

You can probably guess where my hubby stopped after his haircut.  Yep, tonight after dinner we split a few different types of cookies, much to the delight of our daughter.  She doesn't get sweets too often so it is a big treat for her.

Afterwards she nuzzled up to my husband and said "You're my hero".

Maybe it was the cookies or maybe it came from watching cartoons.  Whatever it was it was, it was beyond cute.

Last night when I asked my daughter what she wanted for supper her reply was:

"I want something fancy, like tacos."

Um, okay.  Guess I totally missed the memo when tacos were moved from the "regular everyday food" department to the "fancy" category.  Move over creme brulee, make way lobster tails, to the back of the line you go filet mignon, scoot over tiny little hors d'oeuvres we need to find some space for the brimming bag of Taco Bell.
